We are live...

I'd like to say thank you to C. Jenkins and W. Weston for their generous donations.  In the words of C. Jenkins "This is a wonderful movement..." and I am glad you all have decided to join us on this journey.

Registration or the 2011 Get your Rear in Gear charity run is now open.  The Get Your Rear in Gear events focus on raising awareness about colon cancer in communities across the country.

This will be our first official event in which you'll get to see the Philly Divas strut their stuff.  Some of us will participate in the 5K run (3.1mile) an others will participate in the 10K run (6.2 miles).  Come out and run or cheer us on, support from friends and family make a world of difference.

What is our goal and how can you help?

This site was set up in order to raise funds to offset event registration fees for members of the meetup group Philly Diva Socialites (PDS) who have committed to making 2011 a year of FITNESS (read below).  Please support us with a monetary donation, every little bit counts (clicking the "Donate" button in the right hand panel).
Why we need your Help:

As some of you may know registration fees for area FITNESS events are not cheap, and it pains me to think that sometimes finances can be a barrier to LIFETIME FITNESS.  My hope it that through generous donations from friends, family, retailers and community organizations we can help to reduce registration fees for the 30 Philly Diva participants.  Event registration fees range in price from $25 - $105.

If you think that health and fitness is a worthy cause and wish to help, there are a few ways you could help:

You can become a sponsor ($100- $150) – if your company is able to be a sponsor for our challenge we will support your business in kind by hosting DIVA events and displaying your company name and logo on our team T-shirts and on our website and FB group page with honorable mentions on individual FB pages and blog post updates

You can make a monetary donation in your company name ($50 - $100) – if your company is able to be a sponsor for our challenge we will support your business in kind by hosting DIVA events and displaying your company logo on our team T-shirts and on our website and FB group page

You can share this information – add a share link to your FB status and share this information with your network of friends, businesses and individuals in the media.

You can come out and support us on race days or any Saturday 10:30am on Kelly Drive.

We plan to do our part by displaying sponsor's logo on our team shirts and blog site, by patronizing retailers who support our efforts and by motivating our children, husbands, family members, friends and our community to come out and GET FIT.

Let the pre-game begin....

I am so excited to announce that February 5, 2011 will be the kick-off event to begin our year of fitness.  There are currently 25 excited Philly Divas signed up to participate in this fitness challenge!
